
At this point your printer should have a green circle with a check mark to indicate that this device is the default device for this PC. On this page you will see the various devices that are installed and if your printer is installed there will be an Icon for it as well. Next scroll down a bit on that same page and under Related Settings click on the blue link for Devices and Printers.

If it is, you will see a on/off switch for a setting called "Let Windows Manage My Default Printer" On my PC the switch is turned off. First, check to see of your LaserJet 1300 is in the list of installed printer.


From within Settings click on Devices to bring up the devices settings. I would suggest that you start off by first clicking on the Window Icon in the lower left corner and then clicking the icon that looks like a gear on the left side of the menu to bring up SETTINGS.
